The Dallas Cowboys’ offense under Brian Schottenheimer, right now, feels like it has a lot of potential.

With a healthy Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, and George Pickens as his main weapons, along with Jake Ferguson at tight end and what we hope will be a revamped run game and improved offensive line, Dallas could have a good group.

But how good?

Well, we are projecting a little, but it will almost certainly be better than last season, although some are highly skeptical (yes, you, Mr. Cowherd).

However, Mike Renner of NFL on CBS Sports has the Cowboys’ weapons being good, in fact, very good.

With the help of Kyle Long, the pair have put all 32 teams’ pass-catchers into tiers, with F being the worst and A being good, but for Dallas and a couple of other teams, there’s another tier, the “S” tier, which stands for sick (as in great).

“Dallas Cowboys maybe a little bit controversial here, but I’ve had no bones about saying George Pickens a top 15 wide receiver, Ceedee Lamb top five receiver,” Renner said. “You got that in your room, you’re going to be damn tough to stop. And then you have a very good tight end position

“Obviously, after that, the receivers are bad. And that’s why I was worried without George Pickens what this receiving core looked like. But I love their tight end position. Jake Ferguson, Luke Schoonmaker. I think Ferguson is a top 10 tight end in the NFL, Schoonmaker [a] reliable backup.”

We agree, although Ferguson needs a bounce-back season in the worst way, and as for Luke Schoonmaker being a reliable backup? We’ve yet to see it, and don’t forget about Brevyn Spann-Ford in this either, who right now is seen as Ferguson’s backup.

Put all of that together, and it is easy to see why the Cowboys’ offense could do some serious damage this season.

Of course, that is predicated on the injury bug staying away, and the playing group being able to play out Schottenheimer’s vision.

Do all of that, and the Cowboys, as Renner suggests, might be tough to stop on offense.
