BREAKING : Lions star receiver Jameson Williams gets $75 million contract prediction

Lions star receiver Jameson Williams gets $75 million contract prediction image

The Detroit Lions should try to get a contract extension done with wide receiver Jameson Williams sooner rather than later.

The team exercised the fifth-year option on Williams in April, so he’s under contract for the next two years.

However, getting a deal done with the young receiver before the market rises would be a logical move from general manager Brad Holmes.

Williams is coming off a breakout 2024 campaign, where he posted 1,000 yards and eight touchdowns. Sports Illustrated’s Christian Booher believes one productive season will earn the dynamic receiver a three-year extension worth $75 million.

“I believe Williams could sign a three-year, $75 million contract that would keep him under contract through the 2029 season,” Booher wrote.

Williams hasn’t reached his ceiling yet and will continue to improve in Detroit’s offense, so paying him a deal worth $25 million annually right now may seem like a lot, but the deal could look like a bargain a year from now.

The Lions are expected to boast one of the most explosive offenses in football once again in 2025, and Williams should play a massive role.
