BREAKING : Cowboys’ Dak Prescott Guarantees New Micah Parsons Contract Will Get Done

Dallas Cowboys' Micah Parsons Turning Heads with 'Ridiculous' Review of Dak Prescott - Athlon Sports

FRISCO – Quarterback Dak Prescott knows his way around the Jerry Jones negotiating table at Dallas Cowboys headquarters. …

And he’s won every time he’s pulled up a chair.

Prescott, once upon a time a lowly former fourth-round pick was franchise-tagged twice before signing his second NFL contract, then cashing in on a four-year, $160 million deal in 2021.

And last year? As he became a perennial Pro Bowler while leading the NFL with 36 touchdown passes in 2023 and finishing as the league’s MVP runner-up, Prescott won again, leveraging his way to a four-yyer, $240 million extension.

What’s next for Prescott? Jerry Jones probably touches his wallet and thanks God it’s not another contract negotiation.

No, instead it’s Dak looking on as Cowboys teammate and three-time All-Pro edge rusher Micah Parsons works to follow in the QB’s high-dollar footsteps.

Micah isn’t holdout out. He’s not griping. He’s practicing and he’s visiting with Jerry and he’s instructing the Cowboys to cll his agent …

And it is a virtual certainty now that he’s destined, in the coming weeks, to become the highest-paid non-QB in NFL history at over $40 million per year.

Meanwhile, Dak is a believer – in Micah and in Jerry.

“Yeah,” Prescott said, “we’re all very confident that Micah’s going to get this deal done. It starts with Micah and Jerry and I think they’ve both alluded to that. Obviously it’s a situation and position that I’ve been in a couple times.

He understands the wait and just doing everything in between there the right way.”

Not everybody understands “The Jerry Way,” which is often about foot-dragging in these matters. But yes, it is helpful to know one’s way around the Cowboys negotiating table … where Dak has been a market-setting winner and where Micah is about to follow suit.
