REPORT: Cowboys’ George Pickens Speaks On ‘Better’ Dak Prescott Connection

Things have already gotten off to a hot start for Dallas Cowboys receiver George Pickens and Dak Prescott.

As George Pickens acclimates to Cowboys, WR's speed highlights work with Dak Prescott

Dallas Cowboys receiver George Pickens has hit the ground running at The Star with his connection with Dak Prescott already on show as minicamp continues.

Pickens has been praised for his route running and his touchdown grabs as he and Dak appear to be on the same page already.

Yes, it is early in the offseason, but the more George is on the field, the quicker he can develop that connection not only with Prescott but with his teammates as well.

“It’s getting better and better every time, learning the plays, the more I’m here and then get the minutiae of how he [Dak] wants to run his play, so yeah, we’re connecting for sure,” Pickens said.

With Pickens on one side and CeeDee Lamb on the other, there is a case to be made that Dak has the best one-two receiver punch of his career.

Both are expected to feature heavily in Brian Schottenheimer’s “speedy” offense, and the more Pickens can impress and be dialed in during team meetings, once training camp in Oxnard rolls around, it will be all gas, no brakes for the receiver.

And he’s already noticing something that Schotty is doing that most coaches don’t, and it is something fans and media alike have been craving for 24 months.

“A lot of motions, a lot of things that you get an indicator on what the defense is doing before you say hike, and some coaches don’t do that,” Pickens added.

Dak Prescott and George Pickens Revitalize Cowboys' NFL Hopes

It does seem that George has had about as good a start to life as a Cowboy as he could have hoped, and one underrated aspect is that he has been at OTAs and minicamp and has been on the field.

Speeding up his chemistry with Dak and Co. is only going to manifest good things in 2025.

Yes, it’s early, but everything about George so far has been overwhelmingly positive.
