BREAKING : 🔍 Chiefs’ Surprising Move on Travis Kelce’s Backup This Offseason—What’s Going On?

Chiefs Make Decision on Travis Kelce's Backup Amid Offseason - Athlon SportsThe Kansas City Chiefs are looking to make their fourth straight Super Bowl appearance, led by head coach Andy Reid.

Reid led the Chiefs to three Super Bowls during his tenure. Last season, the Chiefs defeated the Houston Texans and the Buffalo Bills, earning their fifth AFC championship in the Patrick Mahomes era.

After losing to the Philadelphia Eagles in the most recent Super Bowl, all eyes turned toward the coaching staff to make roster improvements.

On Wednesday, Kansas City took a step in the right direction, bulking up their tight end room behind Travis Kelce.

According to Aaron Wilson, the Chiefs signed tight end Kevin Foelsch.

Kevin Foelsch made the move to the NFL after a college football career at New Haven. During his college football career, where he played from 2019 to 2022, Foelsch played a pivotal role on the Chargers’ offense as a run blocker and pass catcher.

In his last season at New Haven, 2022, Foelsch posted five touchdowns and 191 yards on 25 receptions.

Chiefs, Travis Kelce need radical plan after Super Bowl loss

Foelsch will now serve as a backup to Travis Kelce, who has been one of the best tight ends in the NFL over the past several seasons.

During his time with the Kansas City Chiefs, Kelce has been named a four-time All-Pro and 10-time Pro Bowler while helping the AFC team win three Super Bowl titles.

Kelce will now be heading into his 13th season in the NFL, looking to help push the Chiefs back to the Super Bowl.
