BREAKING : Chiefs Turn Heads With Patrick Mahomes Quarterback Ranking Update

Chiefs Turn Heads After Announcement on Patrick Mahomes' Teammate - Yahoo Sports

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is dividing opinion ahead of the 2025 season after two below-par statistical years.

However, despite that, Mahomes is 25-7 in the regular season and is 6-1 in the postseason with a Super Bowl win.

Yes, Patrick’s stats are down in each of the past two years with fewer passing yards and touchdowns, but we aren’t ready to sell our Mahomes stock in 2025.

And neither is Fox Sports’ Henry McKenna, who, in his latest quarterback rankings, has Patrick No. 1.

“Mahomes might not finish the season with a stellar record, but his individual performances will look a whole lot prettier than last year,” McKenna wrote. “The Chiefs invested in the left tackle position in both free agency (Jaylon Moore) and the draft (Josh Simmons).

“I’m willing to bet that position holds solid throughout the season. If the line keeps it together and the young wideouts (Rashee Rice, Xavier Worthy) continue to ascend, Mahomes can finally do more with his offense. Which means he’ll be the best QB in the NFL again.”

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes (15).

The offensive line allowed 47 sacks (including playoffs) last season, a career-high for Mahomes, plus Rashee Rice was out for the year after Week 4, and Hollywood Brown didn’t see the field until Week 16.

Additionally, Travis Kelce wasn’t at his All-Pro best, so there were numerous factors contributing to the up-and-down nature of Patrick’s play.

Now, with Rice returning, and the hope that Brown and Kelce can have bounce-back seasons, and the offensive line with Jaylon Moore and Josh Simmons can help solidify Mahomes’ blindside, there is a chance for No. 15 to have a better season than last year.

While having Patrick at No. 1 is subjective, if the Chiefs do have a good season, it isn’t too hard to envision Mahomes will be the reason why and be fully deserving of the top spot.
