Amon-Ra St. Brown’s Injury Announcement Raises Major Red Flag for Lions Fans

Lions-Bears inactives: David Montgomery, Amon-Ra St. Brown WILL PLAY - Pride Of Detroit

It’s no secret that the Detroit Lions’ passing offense revolves around star wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown.

The 25-year-old wideout has led the team in receiving every year since Detroit grabbed him in the fourth round of the 2021 draft, and he’s largely credited for helping quarterback Jared Goff resurrect his career after being traded to the Lions right before St. Brown’s rookie year.

St. Brown, a three-time Pro Bowler and two-time first-team All-Pro, has had three straight seasons with 1,150 yards or more, and he’s caught double-digit touchdowns in back-to-back years.

And while St. Brown is one of Detroit’s offensive leaders, he revealed on Thursday that he hasn’t been participating in any of the team’s offseason practices because of a procedure he had done shortly after the season ended.

Detroit Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown (14) leaps into the crowd to celebrate with fans against the Green Bay Packers.I had a surgery on my knee after the season just to clean some stuff up, so I’ve been rehabbing that, but I should be good to go for training camp,” St. Brown told reporters.

St. Brown didn’t reveal which knee he had the procedure done on, but it should be noted he did injure his right knee on a punt return last November, which caused him to miss some practice time though he did play in the following week’s game.

Though St. Brown seems optimistic his knee won’t affect him being ready for the start of the season, some Lions fans expressed their concern about the secrecy of St. Brown’s surgery and his timeline for recovery.

“Lions have not been telling the media A LOT,” one fan wrote.

“Knee surgery nobody knew anything about 😭” another fan noted.

“[Expletive] bro can we get any good news this offseason,” a third fan exclaimed.

“Lions offseason from hell. Which of their star players is next?” asked one user.

“’Anticipates?’” questioned another user.

“Lions falling apart,” one fan commented.

“Some bad juju in Detroit…” remarked another.
