Packers star reveals surprise injury that's still impacting preparation for new season image

The Green Bay Packers had one injury last season that’s still leaving its mark just a bit.

Kenny Clark revealed the news earlier this week to ESPN’s Rob Demovsky.

Clark had offseason surgery to fix a right foot issue. He had hurt it all the way back in Week 1 when the Packers played the Eagles in Brazil.

He was listed on the injury report the rest of the season with a toe injury, but the defensive tackle still played all 17 games and finished with 37 tackles.

“It was a tough year for me,” Clark told Demovsky. “I had surgery on my foot in January, so yeah, it was a tough year. But I’m excited. I’m back out practicing, back doing [individual drills], so today was my second day doing indy with the team, and just have to keep building forward.”

Clark, 29, was the 27th overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft by the Packers.

He’s a three-time Pro Bowl selection.

Clark has spent his entire nine-year NFL career with the Packers and has 35.0 career sacks.

At 6-foot-3, 314 pounds, a foot injury isn’t anything to sneeze at. Sounds like Clark isn’t quite back to full strength yet, but it’ll just be a bit more of a bump before a month-plus likely sets up Clark with a full-throttle training camp.
