Cowboys get major Micah Parsons update amid contract rumors image

Despite ongoing contract rumors, Dallas Cowboys superstar linebacker Micah Parsons left no doubt about his intentions with the team.

Parsons is a four-year veteran who’s been one of the best defenders in the league since he stepped foot in his first game in 2021. The 26-year-old is already a four-time Pro Bowler and two-time First-Team All-Pro and has proven how valuable he is to the Cowboys’ defense.

With Parsons set to be a free agent in 2026, Dallas has to make a contract decision for the superstar defender. As the edge-rusher market continues to climb to record-setting heights, Parsons is reportedly seeking a contract extension that could make him the highest-paid defensive player in the league.

Though Parsons doesn’t already have an extension in place, he made it clear, posting Tuesday on X, that he would be in attendance for Dallas’ mandatory minicamp.

“I will be there,” Parsons posted. “I haven’t missed a mini camp in 4 years! Even though the contract is not done, I have teammates and a playbook ! I’m preparing as if I will be on the field the first week of camp! But it’s in the owner’s hands. I’m ready to win a Super Bowl!”

With no finalized contract in place, some players in Parsons’ position may not show up to send a message to the team, so it’s a good sign that he’s still deciding to attend the first week of camp. Parsons’ desire for an extension is clear, so the Cowboys will need to make a decision fairly soon.
