Chiefs' Chris Jones ranks as PFF's top interior defender for 2025

Pro Football Focus recently ranked Kansas City Chiefs star Chris Jones as the NFL’s top interior defender. The veteran lineman continues to change the game with his exceptional ability to rush the quarterback and draw attention, allowing teammates to make plays.

“What more is there to say about Chris Jones? The future first-ballot Hall of Famer was once again the highest-graded interior defender in the NFL in 2024 (90.2),” wrote Trevor Sikkema, “That makes it 88.0-plus marks in seven of his nine NFL seasons. His 1.69 PFF WAR over the past three years is by far the most among interior defenders.”

Pro Football Focus noticed Kansas City’s dominant defensive line in the 2024 AFC Championship and awarded star Jones a grade of 90.6. Jones led all Chiefs players in the team’s victory over the Buffalo Bills.

Last season, Jones earned his third consecutive first-team All-Pro selection and sixth straight Pro Bowl invitation. He finished the 2024 regular season with five sacks and 37 tackles in 15 games.
