BREAKING NEWS : Chiefs WR Turning Heads with Offseason Transformation After Injury

Skyy Moore 2022 Player Profile | Reception Perception

If there is one consistent concern for the Kansas City Chiefs in recent seasons, it has been a lack of proven receiver depth. Even the emergence of Rashee Rice is now in question with a possible looming suspension and 2024’s brutal injury. Heading into the 2025 season, Hollywood Brown and Xavier Worthy as the team’s primary options. However, if OTAs are any indication, the team could find a surprise contributor.

Skyy Moore showed up to OTAs after suffering a 2024 injury in noticeably different shape. Moore has added muscle and looks like a player motivated to win a larger role. The pass catcher has 494 receiving yards in his three seasons with the Chiefs and has caught one touchdown. After missing 2024, it is fair to call this season a make-or-break year for the fourth-year pro.

Skyy Moore is Giving Kansas City Chiefs Fans Hope of Finding a Surprise Contributor

If the receiver could become a third or fourth reliable option, the Kansas City offense could look entirely different. Suddenly, there is less pressure on Rice to return with the team being able to spread the ball between Brown, Worthy, Moore, and tight ends Noah Gray and Travis Kelce. While OTAs are never worth a complete overreaction, it is a noteworthy change.

One that lends hope to the team’s current depth chart at the position. If the Chiefs aren’t going to make another move in free agency, their best hope is Moore or rookie Jalen Royals cementing themselves as contenders. Both receivers have been impressive early on and are working their way up the depth chart.

For Moore, this is a pivotal season that will determine what the future will look like. If you’re unable to play a role after this impressive physical transformation in one of the most creative offenses in the league, your future in the NFL is on incredibly shaky ground.

It is yet another story for Kansas City fans to keep an eye on throughout the summer and into the preseason. Perhaps this change finally signals Moore taking a step forward and giving Mahomes a much-needed boost at the position.
