Taylor Swift cleaned up at the 2024 MTV Europe Music Awards, winning Best Video, Best Artist, Best Live, and Best U.S.
Act. And while many were likely hoping to see her give acceptance speeches live in person at Manchester’s Co-op Live in the United Kingdom, Swift was actually supporting boyfriend Travis Kelce as Arrowhead Stadium as the Kansas City Chiefs knocked off the Denver Broncos 16-14 on Sunday.
It’s the last time Swift will be able to catch one of Kelce’s games in person until almost Christmas as the Canadian leg of her “Eras Tour” will keep her away from an NFL stadium until Dec. 8. The Chiefs’ next home game Swift can attend is a Dec. 21 matchup against the Houston Texans.
A video was shown that Swift prerecorded at one of her “Eras Tour” shows thanking the fans for voting for her, which caused quite a stir on social media from fans who felt slighted that Swift chose attending the Chiefs game over the awards show where she was honored.

“‘I’m so sad I can’t be with you tonight’ THIS LIAR,” one fan wrote.
“Exactly like why r u lying,” another added.
“She deserves the rest during her break but lying on international tv even tho people will know where she is hilarious,” a third fan chimed in.
“She even used eras tour as an excuse,” remarked another.
“‘Coming from the Eras Tour’? More like coming from in my Chiefs era tour,” added one user.
“Haha, caught red-handed! Those ‘wish I could be there’ texts hit differently when you know the truth,” quipped another fan.
“Caught in a lie-sounds like someone wasn’t being totally honest,” stated another.
“Acting heartbroken while living it up-absolute pro at fake tears,” one user wrote.
While some fans were likely disappointed they didn’t get to see Swift in person, Kelce and the Chiefs were presumably glad she came out to Arrowhead.
Kansas City improved to 15-3 in games Swift attends, including 5-0 this season.
