It should not take long for Green Bay Packers fans and the media to learn the outcome of the Jaire Alexander saga. In February, NFL Network’s Ian Rappoport shared that Green Bay was open to trade calls for the two-time All-Pro. However, by April, reports emerged that Alexander and the team were working on a new deal, suggesting he could stay in Green Bay after all.
The best-case scenario for the Packers and Alexander is a resolution that keeps him with the team. It would be difficult for Green Bay to get significant value in a trade. Additionally, the lack of reliable, experienced outside cornerbacks in their secondary is concerning.
That said, it is still possible Alexander and the Packers could part ways. If that happens, three NFC teams could step in as potential suitors.
According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the Los Angeles Rams, Dallas Cowboys, and Washington Commanders are aiming to strengthen their secondary and are in the market for cornerbacks.

The Miami Dolphins have made star cornerback Jalen Ramsey available for trade, and these three teams are exploring options to upgrade their secondary. If Jaire Alexander hits the market, they could also be potential suitors.
Alexander has missed 34 of Green Bay’s last 68 games, but when he was on the field last season, he still made an impact. He allowed just a 56.0% completion rate last season, along with three pass breakups and two interceptions. Among Green Bay’s cornerbacks, he also gave up the lowest passer rating at 79.9.
The challenge for the Packers—and any team potentially interested in Jaire Alexander—is the uncertainty tied to his age and durability. He will turn 29 next February, and with his injury history, there is no telling if he can stay healthy. Alexander also carries Green Bay’s third-largest cap hit in 2025, and if he is going to return, it likely will not be under those terms.
Any team looking to acquire him would probably try to restructure his deal into something more manageable. Still, Alexander should have options, whether he stays in Green Bay or ends up elsewhere.
