The Green Bay Packers are trying everything they can to give Jordan Love the best offensive line possible, using premium draft picks in consecutive seasons on Jordan Morgan and Anthony Belton while extending well-performing guard Elgton Jenkins after his star turn.

Offensive linemen rarely evolve into league-wide stars, and even fewer do so from a small-market team like Green Bay. Jenkins might be one of the few who could end up breaking both of those molds if he is able to sustain his high level of performance at the center position in 2025.

ESPN’s Aaron Schatz declared Jenkins to be the most underrated interior offensive lineman in the game, citing the fact that he played both tackle and guard before kicking inside to center and has produced the eighth-best pass block win rate in the league.

ESPN declares Packers’ Elgton Jenkins the league’s most underrated interior OL

Jenkins has been named to the Pro Bowl twice in his six years with the Packers, but that number should assuredly be higher if his true production were to be taken into account. Green Bay throws the ball a ton, and they wouldn’t be as effective as they are if Jenkins was not a top-tier guard.

While his run-blocking took a slight dip, Jenkins ranked as the best pass-protecting guard in the league during the 2024 season among those who hit the minimum snap requirement. Both All-Pro nominees in Kansas City’s Joe Thuney and Denver’s Quinn Meinerz were inferior to Jenkins, who was not named an All-Pro.

As Morgan, Belton, and Rasheed Walker fight for the left tackle role, Jenkins gives Green Bay one of the best interior offensive lines in the NFC. Between Jenkins at center and high-profile free agent signing Aaron Banks coming in to play left guard, Love will have plenty of protection this season.

Jenkins should hve the athetic ability needed to hold up once he makes the switch to center. If he can star there while improving his run blocking skills, he might not be a secret that only the most eagle-eyed non-Packers fans across the league know about anymore.
