Green Bay Packers Legend Advocates For Jordan Love To Lead Team USA At Olympics

Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love is looking to be more consistent in 2024. Last season was a mixed bag of results. He had some moments where he looked like a top-five quarterback in the league, and other moments where the massive contract the Packers gave him looked like a mistake. Still, many people believe in Love long-term. One of those players is franchise legend Donald Driver. At Love’s annual charity softball game, Driver made it clear who he wanted to see quarterback the team in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.

Green Bay Packers Jordan Love On Team USA?

At the owner’s meetings in Minnesota this week, approval was given for NFL players to compete in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. Flag football will be added to the games after being widely successful in other world competitions. The rule only allows one player from each team, plus the team’s designated international player, to compete in the games. Since the decision was made, fans and analysts have been building their dream teams. Green Bay Packers wide receiver Donald Driver told the press that Team USA has their quarterback in Jordan Love.

Love didn’t shut down the idea. “Never say never,” the former Utah State quarterback said. The games are still a couple of years away, but it will be interesting to see who wants to play and who decides to pass. Minnesota Vikings receiver Justin Jefferson has already expressed excitement about competing for a gold medal. On the other side of the spectrum, Philadelphia Eagles receiver AJ Brown said he would likely pass.

A Fun Event To Look Forward To

Many fans look forward to the Olympic Games. It is three weeks of constant sports, uniting us all in cheering for Team USA. As the event gets closer, it will be interesting to see what team gets built. There will be no shortage of options, and there might even be some underdogs to cheer for if the US decides to bring members of the national flag football team in.

Could we see Jordan Love? The fact that he didn’t immediately rule it out could mean he has already thought about it. In another two years, he could be one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL if he continues to develop. For now, the Green Bay Packers hope he can dominate the 2025 season.
