Mitchell Wilcox, Joe Giles-Harris revert to Patriots' practice squad after Week 10 - Pats Pulpit

Tight end Mitchell Wilcox and linebacker Joe Giles-Harris reverted to the New England Patriots’ practice squad on Monday afternoon.

Both vested veterans served as standard elevations for what became a 19-3 win over the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field.

Wilcox, 28, handled one snap on offense for a tight end depth chart also featuring Hunter Henry, Austin Hooper and rookie Jaheim Bell. He added 11 snaps on special teams. The 6-foot-4, 250-pound South Florida product previously reverted in September after playing 17 snaps in the kicking game versus the San Francisco 49ers. Wilcox had signed to the practice squad after being released at the NFL’s 53-man roster deadline in August. Originally entering the league as an undrafted free agent with the Cincinnati Bengals in 2020, he appeared in 48 games before agreeing to terms in Foxborough in April. His career has spanned 29 receptions for 211 yards and one touchdown.

Giles-Harris, 27, saw eight defensive snaps and notched a quarterback hit in wake of the team ruling out starting linebacker Christian Elliss and waiving off-ball veteran Raekwon McMillan. He played 19 snaps on special teams, as well, where a penalty for illegal formation occurred. The 6-foot-2, 234-pound Duke alum last reverted after recording two tackles versus the New York Jets. Giles-Harris spent all of 2023 on the practice squad before being retained on a futures contract. He re-signed to the scout team at its formation in August. Undrafted 2019, Giles-Harris has also made NFL stops with the Jacksonville Jaguars and Buffalo Bills, totaling 19 appearances, 28 tackles and one sack.

One standard elevation remains for both call-ups before a move to the active roster would be required to take the field.

The Los Angeles Rams visit Gillette Stadium next Sunday. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. ET.
