“🔥 Are the Chiefs Still a Top-10 Offense in 2025? Critics Aren’t So Sure 🤔”

Chiefs Critics Wonder If Kansas City's A Top-10 Offense In 2025 - Athlon Sports

The Kansas City Chiefs will enter the 2025 season with a somewhat unknown quantity about them.

After the Super Bowl loss that saw them blowout, coupled with an offseason that hasn’t exactly eased the fears over the offensive line, we aren’t sure what to expect outside of Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and the usual suspects on offense.

But Rashee Rice is returning from injury, to go with Marquise Brown, Xavier Worthy, and Juju Smith-Schuster to complete Mahomes’ weapons. Plus, the run game features Isiah Pacheco, Kareem Hunt, and Elijah Mitchell.

However, where does that offense rank?

For Bleacher Report, when ranking all 32 NFL offenses, the Chiefs come in at No. 9.

“At this point, no one can deny Patrick Mahomes’ greatness,” Bleacher Report writes. “The same can be said of Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid and tight end Travis Kelce. All three of them will leisurely stroll into the Pro Football Hall of Fame shortly after their respective careers end.Despite those acknowledgements, the Chiefs weren’t a top-10 offense last season. In fact, the unit has experienced a downward trend for three straight campaigns. Injuries played their part in 2024.

“Mahomes is magic. The Chiefs will score points. The offensive line remains a sore spot until the group proves it isn’t.”

Will Chiefs Possess A Top 10 Offense in 2025?

As we saw in the Super Bowl loss, it doesn’t matter if you have the best quarterback in football; if he doesn’t have time, you don’t have a shot.

So Jaylon Moore and Josh Simmons need to hit the ground running in 2025, and so does Kingsley Suamataia, who will shift from left tackle to left guard.

There are a lot of moving pieces for Mahomes’ protection, but if they can mesh together and give No. 15 time to throw without him running for his life, then the Chiefs can have a productive offense.

But that’s a big if.
