BREAKING NEWS : Dallas Cowboys will start the first game with a big problem that could leave them in trouble

Dallas Cowboys will start the first game with a big problem that could leave them in trouble | Marca

The NFL has already set the clock ticking for the start of its new season. The first game of the 2025 calendar is already set and it could not be more explosive: the Dallas Cowboys will face the champion Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday, September 4, in the traditional NFL Kickoff Game.

It will be a duel full of history and tension, with the first acid test for Dak Prescott and his revamped offense, in which they run the risk of being touched sooner than planned, when facing their arch-divisional rival, led by Jalen Hurts.

Although they are familiar with each other, this time they will meet in an unusual setting: they have not met in September since 2021 and have not opened a campaign against each other since 2000, when Philadelphia crushed Dallas 41-14.

The immediate precedent also favors the Eagles, who in 2024 won both games against the Cowboys by a combined score of 75-13, with Prescott not playing in either game due to injury.

The clash will be the debut in an official game for new head coach Brian Schottenheimer and the newly arrived wide receiver George Pickens.

The NFL will begin unveiling select games on Monday and reveal the full 2025 schedule at 8 p.m. ET on Wednesday on NFL Network, NFL.com, the NFL app and NFL+.

Teams have known their 2025 opponents since the end of last season, but are still waiting for dates and times.

There will be a Super Bowl rematch between the Eagles and Chiefs, as well as another Allen-Mahomes clash among the most important games of 2025.

Seven international matches will be played in five countries, including three in England, one in Germany, one in Brazil and the first matches in Spain and Ireland.
