Cowboys Rookie Turns Heads: Coaches Stunned by His Offseason Dominance 👀

Cowboys Fans Get Huge News On Rookie Projected to Exceed Expectations

Dallas Cowboys roster: 3 players who will exceed expectations in 2024 - Blogging The Boys

Under Brian Schottenheimer, the Dallas Cowboys will emphasize the run game heavily in 2025, and this might have a lot to do with rookie Jaydon Blue.

With a running back room that has Miles Sanders and Javonte Williams as the veterans, both are plodding-type backs, whereas Blue, who boasts a 4.38 40-yard dash, is seen as the lightning that can ignite one of the worst run games in football last season.

But that is provided Blue even makes the team (we think he will). With Sanders, Williams, and even fellow rookie Phil Mafah on the roster, the Cowboys have a couple of avenues to explore when it comes to scheming their run game.

However, Blue feels like he could be set for a big role in 2025, and Pro Football Network has named him as one rookie who could exceed expectations this season.

“Jaydon Blue brings explosive, big-play potential to the Cowboys’ backfield and could become a dynamic weapon in a complementary role,” Pro Football Network writes. “Though he never served as Texas’ primary back, Blue consistently flashed high-level speed, agility, and receiving upside that make him an intriguing fit in today’s NFL. He comes in with fresh legs, and his development down the stretch showed clear growth.”

Whether or not Blue could be the starter come Week 1 is unknown, and training camp will be pivotal in how the depth chart shakes out, but his speed and ability to catch out of the backfield are two big traits we know Schottenheimer loves.

Exactly what the expectations will be for Blue right now is a tough thing to nail down, with the rookie seen as a cog in the machine, not the main guy.

That could change as we move forward through the offseason, but Blue is already being pegged to have some kind of role for Schottenheimer in 2025.

And whatever role that is, expect him to exceed it.
