Diving into five things to keep an eye on this weekend
The Cleveland Browns officially begin their rookie minicamp this afternoon, and there are a handful of interesting players and storylines to watch throughout the weekend.
The participating roster will consist of drafted players, undrafted rookie free agents, and rookie tryout players.
Let’s jump right into some of the most exciting or intriguing things to keep an eye on at this year’s rookie minicamp:
How Dillon Gabriel & Shedeur Sanders look on outside-the-number throws
Gabriel and Sanders are consistently accurate throwers over the middle, up the seam, and on in-breaking routes.
They have to showcase their ability to accurately zip balls to the outside on corners, flat/arrows, and even basic 5-10 yard out routes. Kevin Stefanski’s offense relies on these types of concepts in different situations to try and take advantage of defensive backs who are consistently shading inside.
Mason Graham’s movement skills
Graham might look like a regular guy off the field, but when he’s on the field, he’s a menace to opposing offenses due to his above-average quickness and explosion.
It’ll be interesting to see how quickly Graham explodes out of his stance and gets from point A to point B this weekend.
How Donovan McMillon, LaMareon James, and Dom Jones perform
Each one of these defensive backs has the ability and potential to compete for a roster spot this summer, but they’ll have to start off by standing out over the next few days.
Justin Osborne’s ability to snap the ball consistently
Cleveland had to bring in another player who could snap the football this summer, seeing that Ethan Pocic and Luke Wypler are the only true centers on the roster.
Osborne has the experience, athleticism, and technical ability to be the team’s top practice squad center heading into 2025. He’s played every position along the offensive line throughout his collegiate career, and it seems as though he’ll try to settle in at center at the pro level.
Tulane DT/DE Adin Huntington’s athletic ability
Huntington’s insane athletic ability (9.64 RAS Score) should immediately stand out this weekend, especially when it comes to his lateral quickness and closing speed.
For those of you who didn’t know how incredibly athletic #Browns UDFA DT Adin Huntington is, he had the same 10-yard split time as Iowa/Steelers RB Kaleb Johnson.
Not far behind Quinshon Judkins’ time either. 👀

He appears to be a more athletic and explosive version of Sam Kamara, and it’ll be exciting to see him run around this weekend.
