This would be hilarious.

The Kansas City Chiefs have added help to the wide receiver room this offseason but is there ever too much depth at a position like wide receiver? Would the Chiefs be open to adding a veteran wideout to their offensive ranks?

Former Broncos and Chargers cornerback Chris Harris Jr. recently floated a possible wide receiver addition that would make both of Harris’ former teams mad but more so the Chargers. He said on The Up & Adams Show that Kansas City would be a good landing spot for Keenan Allen, who spent 11 years with the Chargers organization.

“[The] Chiefs might be a good pickup for him you know? But I don’t know if he wants to go there.”

Chargers fans would be so mad if Keenan Allen joined Chiefs

As funny as it would be to add Allen to the Chiefs offense, it feels that, if anything, he’d rejoin his old team. The Chargers need help at wide receiver and Allen spent 11 years with that team until he was traded to Chicago last offseason. He had over 700 receiving yards and scored seven touchdowns with the Bears so he still has plenty left in the tank.

Allen, like other former AFC West players, likely doesn’t have much desire to join a team that he’s spent his entire career disliking but if he did decide to come to Kansas City, Patrick Mahomes would love having another weapon at his disposal. With Rashee Rice both returning from injury and then looking at a multi-game suspension and Hollywood Brown struggling to stay healthy in recent years, the more talent the Chiefs want to add at wide receiver, the better.

If Brett Veach did sign Allen, not only would the Chiefs be getting a talented veteran to add to their offense but Chargers fans would be really ticked off. That’d be comedy gold for Chiefs Kingdom. Win-win.
