Cowboys QB Dak Prescott Owed 1 Thing in Next ‘Desperate’ Roster Move

Dak Prescott revealed the moment he and CeeDee Lamb got their on-field connection back | Marca

The Dallas Cowboys’ No. 2 receiver search, so far, hasn’t turned up anything substantial aside from reports of failed trade ties and the random murmuring of lackluster potential candidates.

With a current receiver room that reads CeeDee Lamb and the rest, if the Cowboys are to put themselves in a position to be better than they were a year ago, a decent No. 2 receiver must come in.

But it isn’t only that, it is the franchise putting Dak Prescott and Lamb at the forefront of their minds.

Dak is the highest-paid quarterback in football. So why would you not try to get him as many weapons as possible? He doesn’t need a so-so group.

As for Lamb, yes, he’s one of the highest-paid receivers in football, but that doesn’t mean he should have to be Superman as he was last season.

Get the pair help.

Dallas Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb and QB Dak Prescott.

The front office has shown a commitment to both with their long-term contracts, but to get the most out of the pair, it is just as important to surround them with viable options.

The draft showed what Brian Schottenheimer wants to build, and if a receiver had been selected, one could say Dallas is ready to roll in 2025.

But that is the big, glaring roster hole – and Dallas should be desperate to fill it.

This may sound weird in the way we phrase this, but Dallas owner Jerry Jones “owes” Dak something here … something more than just $60 million.

And Jerry owes it to himself as well.

The Cowboys simply have to turn over every rock in their search for Lamb’s running mate because while CeeDee is All-Pro caliber, so too is Prescott, they can’t do it all themselves.

Plus, investing so much money into the pair, what better way for that to be justified than to win Super Bowls? But to do that, more help is needed, and we know this isn’t a money issue.

With a little over $37 million in cap space, the franchise has no reason not to seriously consider a player like Keenan Allen, Courtland Sutton, George Pickens (though not a Schotty character guy), or even Amari Cooper.

If the franchise truly believes it can win with Dak and CeeDee, then it must prove it.

You have the money, and there are options out there. Go get one.

They do that, coupled with what the front office did in the draft, and now, the 2025 Cowboys take on a whole different look.

But as always, that’s if the Cowboys want to.
