Patriots Cut Six Players Following 2025 Draft - Athlon Sports

It is not even 48 hours since the conclusion of the 2025 NFL Draft, and the New England Patriots have to make some changes.

The Patriots are over the 90-man roster limit following the draft, which results in some players being released.

On Monday, ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter revealed the six players the Patriots would ultimately cut. New England released offensive lineman Jake Andrews, defensive lineman Marcus Harris, wide receiver JaQuae Jackson, linebacker Titus Leo, safety Mark Perry, and tight end Giovanni Ricci.

Andrews was drafted in the fourth round by the Patriots in the 2023 NFL Draft, where he would play 16 games with one start last season. He tore his meniscus in training camp leading up to the 2024 season.

Patriots release six players, including recent fourth-round pick

Harris spent most of last season on the Patriots’ practice squad after being originally cut by the Houston Texans.

Jackson was picked by the Patriots last June after being cut by the Atlanta Falcons. He was making strides toward gaining a roster spot during training camp, but was placed on injured reserve a few weeks before the season.

Leo played four games last season for the Patriots but didn’t account for a single tackle. He spent his rookie season in 2023 with the Indianapolis Colts on IR.

After going undrafted last year, Perry was signed but cut by both the Miami Dolphins and the Houston Texans. The Patriots signed Perry right after week two of last season.

Ricci spent the first four years of his career with the Carolina Panthers. From his second year in 2021 to his fourth year, Ricci played 36 games, catching nine receptions for 102 yards. The Patriots signed a reserve/future contract in February.
