Packers Mock Draft 3.0: No First-Round Pick After Trade Down

How likely is first-round trade for Packers? Trade down more probable than trade up - Yahoo Sports

With only three days until the 2025 NFL Draft, Athlon Sports presents a Green Bay Packers-centric four-round mock draft 3.0. In Mock Draft 1.0, Green Bay traded down but stayed in the first round, selecting CB Trey Amos. In Mock Draft 2.0, the Packers stuck to their spot and picked DT Kenneth Grant on Day 1. Mock Draft 3.0 will explore a scenario that has not occurred since Brian Gutekunst took over as General Manager in 2018.

Trading out of the first round.

The last time Green Bay traded out of the first round was in 2017, during the infamous T.J. Watt draft. Packers President Mark Murphy has given Gutekunst the green light to trade out of the first round this year if it aligns with the team’s best interests. Today, Athlon Sports will project what could happen if that scenario becomes a reality.

Without further ado, it’s time to dive into the Mock Draft.

Pick 33 – Round 2 (From CLE): Jayden Higgins, Wide Receiver, Iowa State

Cleveland, in need of a quarterback after selecting Travis Hunter with the second overall pick, traded up with Green Bay, acquiring picks 33, 87, and 179 in return. With their newly acquired second-round pick, the Packers selected Jayden Higgins, a wide receiver from Iowa State. Higgins is a strong route runner with a 3% drop rate and a 56% contested catch rate. In 2024, Higgins ranked 10th in the FBS with 87 receptions for 1,183 yards and led his team with nine receiving touchdowns.

Pick 54 – Round 2: Jalen Royals, Wide Receiver, Utah State

Royals joined Utah State in 2022 and played 12 games, although he didn’t register any statistics. In 2023, he had a breakout season, earning First-Team All-Mountain West honors by leading the team with 1,080 receiving yards and setting a school record with 15 touchdowns. Despite a foot injury limiting him to just seven games in 2024, he was named Second-Team All-Mountain West. He still managed to lead the team with 55 receptions for 834 yards and six touchdowns, in addition to tallying 184 yards on nine kick returns.

Pick 67 – Round 3 (From CLE): Oluwafemi Oladejo, EDGE, UCLA

Oladejo is an explosive edge rusher who can provide a much-needed boost to a defensive line that ranked in the bottom ten in pass rush win rate last season. He brings an athletic profile, versatility, and the physicality to be a strong run defender. Additionally, he can be a valuable asset in simulated pressures.

Pick 95 – Round 3 (From KC): Jacob Parrish, Cornerback, Kansas State

Parrish has accumulated over 1,500 career snaps at Kansas State, including 470 as a wide corner and 91 in the slot during the 2024 season. He flashes impressive speed and quick acceleration. While he offers the versatility to align anywhere in the secondary, his most effective reps have come when playing inside at nickel.

Pick 124 – Round 4: Sai’vion Jones, EDGE, LSU

Jones is a physical rusher with an excellent understanding of pocket depth. He features a fluid chop-and-rip move complemented by a solid spin counter. However, he needs to refine his ability to convert speed into power when attacking off the edge.

Pick 133 – Round 4: Cam’Ron Jackson, Defensive Tackle, Florida

Florida Football: Cam'Ron Jackson proves star ratings aren't everything

Jackson is a 328-pound nose tackle with a good feel for using his athleticism to overpower interior blockers. He plays with solid flexibility for his size and delivers a powerful punch at the point of attack. However, limited first-step quickness and sluggish movement in tight spaces reduce his impact as a pass rusher.
