BREAKING : Chiefs’ Andy Reid Would Be ‘Thrilled’ With This Consensus Mock Draft Result

2020 NFL mock draft: Surveying latest options for the Kansas City Chiefs

For most, the Kansas City Chiefs’ biggest area of concern regarding their roster is crystal clear.

After Patrick Mahomes was sacked a whopping 47 times last season (including playoffs), the Chiefs lost star guard Joe Thuney, who was a cap casualty.

Yuck. But Jaylon Moore was signed from the San Francisco 49ers in free agency to be the left tackle tasked with protecting the best quarterback in football.

But the 12 starts in four years worries me, and as it turns out, it might worry the Chiefs too.

With the NFL Draft fast approaching, mock drafts are coming from every angle, and most have the AFC champs going one way and one way only – offensive line.

And in CBS Sports’ “consensus” mock draft, it is revealed that Josh Conerly Jr. is the player most think will land in Kansas City.

“Rest assured that Andy Reid would be thrilled to grab Conerly, who allowed just one sack in 494 pass-protection opportunities last season,” CBS Sports writes.

Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid reacts to a no-call against the Cincinnati Bengals during the game at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.

With the offensive line having Moore and Conerly Jr., we could envision a training camp battle ensuing, and while Moore is seen as the starter, the Chiefs, in an ideal world, would want Conerly Jr. to push him hard for the starting role.

Many are doubting the Chiefs in 2025 after the Super Bowl debacle, and the offensive line is one reason why. But if Moore can show he deserves to be the starter and Conerly Jr. can push him to greater heights, then who knows how the Chiefs will fare?

But right now, one thing is for certain: the jury is still out on whether Kansas City can bounce back in 2025.
