BREAKING NEWS : New Browns QB Speaks Out On Travis Hunter

Browns QB Joe Flacco Has High Praise for Travis Hunter Ahead of NFL Draft - Yahoo Sports

Quarterback Joe Flacco, who was recently signed by the Cleveland Browns, is pulling no punches. He really likes the idea of possibly playing football with last year’s Heisman Trophy winner, Travis Hunter.

But …

Hunter has been projected as the first-round pick of the Browns on Thursday night in the NFL Draft. No problems there; Flacco welcomes the idea.

Meanwhile, Hunter has made is clear he wants to play offense and defense … and Flacco is enthralled with the idea of a player going “full iron-man.”

Speaking with 92.3 FM The Fan, Flacco talked about the idea of Hunter playing both sides of the ball.

“It’s honestly pretty cool,” Flacco said. “It would be interesting to see the mental grind of that. ”

Flacco said it is possible for Hunter to face and deal with the physical challenges of playing both ways. He suggested the team would just manage the reps he gets at both positions, that maybe the amount of snaps has to be controlled.

The quarterback did say the amount of intel and off-field preparation could be very burdensome, especially for a rookie trying to manage two positions.

“The amount of meetings that we have throughout the week and then, just being on top of all that, offensively, defensively, special teams, that would be a big hurdle,” Flacco said. “But it would also be super impressive to watch.”

Flacco said the reason Hunter can be as good as he is on both sides of the ball must be due to his mental acuity .. especially when it comes to football.

“It’s just a sign that he’s a good football player,” Flacco said. “If you have any questions about him, I think you can point to that and say that he must have a pretty good feel for the game to be able to do both of those things. So, besides the athleticism and the speed and all that, it just seems to indicate that he’s a pretty good football player.”

And given that GM Andrew Berry has referred to Hunter as a “unicorn”? (See below.)

It also seems to indicate Hunter and Flacco are about to be teammates.
