BREAKING NEWS : Packers Meet With No. 1 WR Draft Prospect

The Green Bay Packers have hosted several wide receiver prospects ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft, which is now just eight days away.

Their latest visit came from the majority consensus WR1 in this year’s draft.

Arizona Wildcats wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan

On Tuesday, Green Bay hosted Arizona wide receiver prospect Tetairoa McMillan to a top-30 draft visit, according to Cheesehead TV’s Aaron Nagler.

This meeting comes just under a month after Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst was reportedly the only NFL GM present at McMillan’s private pre-draft workout.

The Hawaii native measured in at 6-foot-4 and 219 pounds. McMillan did not run the 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine, but was timed running a low-mid 4.5 during his pro day.

During his three seasons at Arizona, he showed nothing short of pure dominance.

McMillan’s unique blend of size, athleticism, and run-after-catch ability makes him one of the most exciting overall prospects in this draft.

After leading all true freshmen in receiving yards with 702 in 2022, he completely broke out in 2023, where he led the Wildcats with 90 receptions, 1,402 yards, and 10 touchdowns. His level of play helped the team achieve its best season since 2014.

Despite dealing with an unexpected offseason coaching change and inconsistent quarterback play in 2024, McMillan racked up 84 catches for 1,319 yards (ranked third in the FBS) and eight touchdowns in 12 games. This season earned him First-team All-American and First-team All-Big 12 honors.

The 22-year-old did have seven drops in 2024, two more drops than he had combined during his first two seasons at Arizona, per PFF.

According to FanDuel, McMillan is currently -300 to be the first wide receiver selected, ahead of Texas WR Matthew Golden (+195), who Green Bay has also previously met with.

If Gutekunst and the team are completely bought in on the Arizona product, they will need to trade up to be able to acquire him ahead of other receiver-needy teams.

McMillan has the skillset and build to come in and immediately function as Jordan Love’s top target in Matt LaFleur’s offense from day one.
