The Kansas City Chiefs saw their secondary get torched against the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX, and general manager Brett Veach will be looking to fix his team’s defensive backfield in the 2025 NFL draft later this month.
That is, if Veach doesn’t decide to address the unit before the draft.
On Tuesday, news broke that the Miami Dolphins are officially seeking to trade All-Pro cornerback Jalen Ramsey, which could present an intriguing opportunity for the reigning AFC champions.
We reached out to Dolphins Wire editor Adam Stites to find out what it might take to land Ramsey in a trade.
The #Dolphins and seven-time Pro Bowl CB Jalen Ramsey are mutually set to explore trade options and it wouldn’t be a surprise if he played elsewhere in 2025, per me and @TomPelissero.

According to Stites, the Chiefs could likely land Ramsey if they were willing to part with their fourth-round selection in the 2025 NFL draft.
On its face, this deal seems like a no-brainer.
However, Ramsey’s massive contract would be a massive hurdle for Kansas City’s front office to clear before any trade could be made.
Though his cap number for the 2025 season is relatively low at $16,661,000, it balloons to $25,033,000 in 2026.
Unless the Chiefs are willing to mortgage a significant amount of flexibility in the future, a move for Ramsey seems unlikely.
