BREAKING NEWS : Second-year Cowboys linebacker is very confident in returning from injury for 2025

Second-year Cowboys linebacker is very confident in returning from injury for 2025 - Yahoo Sports

One of the key pieces for the Dallas Cowboys defense next season is hungry to make a run at some hardware along the way.

Last season, rookie linebacker DeMarvion Overshown was quickly ascending to being one of the top players on the Cowboys defense before a knee injury cost him the rest of the year. Against the Cincinnati Bengals, Overshown tore his ACL, MCL, and PCL in the home loss. He recorded six tackles and two TFLs in the game before the injury. The week prior, he made his first interception, returning it 23 yards for a score in the 27-20 win over the New York Giants.

Now, the former Texas Longhorns product is hungry to get back on the field. Overshown stated, “Not only do I want to be nominated for Comeback Player of the Year, but I’m going to be the Comeback Player of the Year.”

His confidence is sky-high, and the team and fans alike should share in that confidence based on what we saw during his abbreviated rookie season in Dallas. Overshown finished his first season with 90 combined tackles, 5.0 sacks, 8.0 TFLs, 5 QB hits, and an interception returned for a score.
