BREAKING : Lions’ Jameson Williams Puts Vikings WRs in Their Place With New Comments

Detroit Lions wide receiver Jameson Williams (9) makes a catch and runs for a first down against Green Bay Packers during the first half at Ford Field in Detroit on Thursday, Dec. 5, 2024.

The Detroit Lions and the Minnesota Vikings were the class of the NFC North during the 2024 season as the two combined for 29 wins and just five losses over the course of their respective 17-game campaigns.

While both teams had extremely impressive overall records in their own right, Detroit’s offensive attack was far more dangerous than what Minnesota boasted and the statistics back it up as the Lions scored 564 total points on their way to 15 wins while the Vikings put up a significantly lower number, 432 points, while securing 14 wins of their own.

With that being the case, it is understandable why one of Detroit’s premier options on the outside, Jameson Williams, was so eager to throw Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison and his teammates under the bus when the two were asked which NFC North powerhouse had the best receiving corps at the CSA Autograph show.

When Addison’s best comeback to Williams proclaiming the Lions wide receiver room was the superior unit is, “Come on man, stop playing,” it is rather clear that the Vikings receiver knew he had very little, if any, leg to stand on in this particular debate.

Detroit’s top three wide receivers, Williams, Amon-Ra St. Brown, and Tim Patrick combined to reel in 206 total catches for 2,658 yards and 22 touchdowns. The balance shown by the Lions’ pass catchers throughout the season is part of what made Detroit so hard to stop on offense as teams would have to try and pick their poison in hopes of slowing Jared Goff and company down.

There is no doubt that the Vikings have one of the best receivers in the game today in Jordan Jefferson as he has shown how special of a talent he is since entering the NFL. However, if we are discussing a wide receiver group in its entirety then most Lions supporters, and NFL fans in general, would side with Williams’ stance on the matter.

Either way, it is always fun to see some good offseason trash talk occur between a pair of division rivals.
