Patrick Mahomes is quickly becoming one of the best players in NFL history, as he and the Kansas City Chiefs have built a dynasty.
The team has consistently been one of the most devastating forces in the league the last few seasons, and 2024 was no different. They went on a nine-game win streak to start the season, and Mahomes revealed to CBS that he never washes his red underwear if the team is winning.
“I mean if we’re on a hot streak, I can’t wash them, you know?”, the superstar field general said.
Fans already knew that Mahomes has worn the same pair of underwear for every game of his career, but now he says that he does not wash them when they win. Considering how dirty a football game can be, that is an interesting choice to say the least.
But something is working, because Mahomes and the Chiefs have made five of the last six Super Bowls, and have won three of them. While it may not be the most hygienic thing in the world, Mahomes believes that his superstitions are real, and who’s to tell him he’s wrong?
The Chiefs will be going into the 2025 season wanting revenge for their loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in the big game this past season. If they can do that, Mahomes will continue to add to his already impressive resume.
