BREAKING NEWS :🔍 Chiefs Show Strong Interest in Versatile Tackle Prospect During Pre-Draft Visit — Could He Be the Missing Piece?

Kansas v Oklahoma State

The Kansas City Chiefs are just one of a handful of teams bringing in potential tackle help for a visit as the 2025 NFL Draft approaches. Specifically, the Chiefs are among the franchises checking out Dalton Cooper, an offensive tackle, from Oklahoma State, per NFL reporter Tom Pelissero.

Cooper is a 6’7″, 315 lb. lineman who earned honorable mention All-Big 12 honors as a senior in 2023 for the Cowboys after having transferred from Texas State. He played for Texas State for three years and started 36 games at left tackle and was a regular all-conference performer.

The Chiefs are among several teams checking out a late-round tackle help.

Cooper comes to the NFL with loads of experience in his five collegiate seasons, but he also brings positional versatility at left and right tackle. His pre-draft metrics also showcased above average athleticism:

The Chiefs, Indianapolis Colts, and Green Bay Packers are among the teams hosting Cooper for a pre-draft visit—of which teams are alloted 30 each spring.

For the Chiefs, Cooper could be a late-draft play for swing tackle competition if taken. The Chiefs will move forward with a presumed lineup of Jaylon Moore at left tackle and Jawaan Taylor at right tackle with Wanya Morris as a primary backup. Ethan Driskell returns to compete for more reps, and Kingsley Suamataia could also be a part of the plan. Jason Godrick is also on the roster.
