Green Bay Packers' Latest Report Is Great News for Jordan Love - Athlon Sports

The Green Bay Packers are going to be a very interesting team to watch leading up to the 2025 NFL draft. Brian Gutekunst has been relatively quiet during NFL free agency, making just two high-profile moves.

Those two moves were the signings of offensive lineman Aaron Banks and cornerback Nate Hobbs.

Both players will fill valuable roles for the Packers. However, there are still many questions that need to be answered in Green Bay.

Jordan Love could use more help offensively. More offensive depth would be wise and another playmaker at the wide receiver would be beneficial as well.

A new report has come out about the Packers’ draft interests that would be great news for Love if it became reality.

According to a report from ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter, Green Bay is set to visit with Ohio State Buckeyes’ offensive lineman Josh Simmons. Schefter also reported that Simmons will meet with the Baltimore Ravens as well.

Simmons is one of the best offensive tackle prospects in the 2025 draft class. Being able to land him at No. 23 would be a great pickup for the Packers.

During the 2024 college football season with Ohio State, Simmons did go down with a torn ACL. That could be a concern for some teams, although Green Bay will not need to force him onto the field early.

Luke Easterling of Athlon Sports broke down Simmons’ game in his scouting report of the Buckeyes’ standout. It’s the kind of scouting report that will excite the Packers’ fan base about the potential of landing him in the draft.

“Simmons is the total package from a physical standpoint, and has the kind of polished technique that should allow him to start right away in the NFL,” Easterling wrote. “His injury and recovery could have an impact on where he lands, but at full strength, he looked like a top-15 talent earlier in the season. Any team looking for an instant starter at either tackle spot could still bank on him returning to that caliber of play, and still take him in that range.”

Green Bay simply looking into adding more protection for Love, especially a prospect with elite upside like Simmons, is great news for the young franchise quarterback.
