Jacksonville Jaguars will be forced to cut their roster to 53 players at the end of August.
Louis Rees-Zammit shared the video
Louis Rees-Zammit has posted previously unseen footage from his time with Kansas City Chiefs ahead of the new season.
The former Wales rugby winger re-signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars earlier this year after completing his first full season with the NFL franchise.
Part of the 17-player practice squad, he was unfortunately not elevated to play last season, but will be hoping to make that step up for the 2025/2026 campaign.
Posting to his Instagram story, Rees-Zammit shared footage from training while at the Chiefs in pre-season last year. He used a GIF which read: ‘Work, work, work’, with footage showing him tearing through the opposition team with his trademark speed.
You can check out the footage below.
Of course, Chiefs were the side who originally picked up the Welshman after he impressed on his NFL Pro Day, but he was cut by the former back-to-back Super Bowl Champions before the season began.
Since the season ended, with Jaguars not making the play-offs, Rees-Zammit left America to enjoy the off-season as he bids to make his big breakthrough.
He first hit up Thailand with his brother Taylor, staying in luxury accommodation and experienced the local cuisine and culture. From there, he returned to the United Kingdom for some well-deserved rest.
Rees-Zammit could be seen jogging around Roath Lake in full Welsh Rugby Union stash ahead of Wales v Ireland in the Six Nations, before hitting up the gym in Cardiff with superstar Welsh boxer and friend Joe Cordina.
More recently, he was spotted in Gloucester’s changing rooms after their 53-28 battering of Bristol Bears. He was topless and smacking the side of a washing bin with many of his former teammates as they celebrated the win together. You can read more about that here.
The new NFL season starts in September, with pre season to get underway in the coming months. Although he’s been signed by Jaguars again, he must prove to their selection team that he is worthy of a place on the active roster or practice squad by August, when the teams are cut. If he doesn’t make it, he’ll be without a club and available to be picked up by other franchises.
