New England Patriots quarterback Joshua Dobbs proposed to his girlfriend Jocelyn Lara and wrote an emotional post for his partner of three and a half years.
Eleven days after securing a deal with the New England Patriots, Dobbs secured a life commitment with Lara, a Chelsea, Massachusetts native.
The pair shared pictures from Dobbs’ romantic proposal at the Boston Harbor on Friday. Dobbs popped the question on a dock lined up with candles and white petals in front of a giant white hears with the words ‘Will you marry me’ in the middle.
‘To my best friend, my biggest supporter, and the most special person in my life, I’m excited to spend forever with you,’ Dobbs wrote in a joint post. ‘Cheers to the Dobbs!’
The pair first made their relationship public with an Instagram picture in December 2021. Both attended the University of Tennessee and were both immersed in campus life.
Lara graduated from the university with a degree in supply chain and marketing.

While Dobbs pursues his NFL career, Lara’s career path has seen her work at Generation Adidas International since October 2022. Lara is also passionate about the NFL Women’s Careers in Football Forum.
She is often seen working to open doors for women in football operations. Lara also previously lent her talents as an executive assistant at the University of Minnesota.
Dobbs was selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the fourth round of the 2017 NFL draft and remained in Steel City until 2022. From there, he spent tenures with the Titans, Cardinals, Vikings, and 49ers.
So far in his career, the former Volunteer has made 23 NFL appearances and completed 344 of 549 attempts for 3,281 yards and 17 touchdowns. He also rushed for 520 yards and eight touchdowns.
During free agency, Dobbs agreed to a two-year, $8million deal with the Patriots, with $3.8m guaranteed.
