Losing in the Super Bowl is a bitter way for any NFL team to see its season end, but the Kansas City Chiefs of 2024 felt that pain more acutely than most. Upon their defeat to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX last month, the Chiefs let NFL history — a first-ever Super Bowl three-peat — slip through their fingers, and no one knows when or if that chance will come again for Kansas City.
But Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce are determined to reach Super Bowl LX next season — especially as Kelce, 35, will probably be playing his final NFL season in 2025. The Chiefs’ hopes of playing in their fourh consecutive Super Bowl have been bolstered by a new workout video, posted by one of Kansas City’s injured stars.
Rashee Rice continues his recovery
An early-season knee injury ended Rashee Rice‘s second NFL season — which had started splendidly and ended debate over the player’s off-season legal troubles that stemmed from a hit-and-run incident in Dallas. Rice‘s 2024 season ended after a little more than three games, but a new workout video posted to social media shows the former second-round pick getting up to speed as part of an offseason regimen.

After helping the Chiefs reach and win Super Bowl LVIII during the 2023 season, Rice began 2024 on a tear; at the time of his injury, he was on track to make more than 130 receptions and rack up in excess of 1,600 receiving yards — numbers that likely would have merited an All-Pro selection. But optimism that Rice could return for the latter stages of the regular season or the NFL playoffs never materialized, and he did not play again after Mahomes accidentally collided with him during the Week 4 matchup with the Los Angeles Chargers.
Rice though believes he will be back and better than ever in 2025, giving Mahomes an exciting trio with which to work that includes Xavier Worthy and Marquise “Hollywood” Brown — not to mention Kelce, entering the 13th season of his legendary career. With another outstanding draft class, Kansas City will believe it can reach the Super Bowl again next year and avenge its loss to Philadelphia in New Orleans.
Rashee Rice says he basically “didn’t scrape the surface” of what he was going to do last season.
He also said him and Pat were on the exact same page in those first three games. pic.twitter.com/5OgMtZvxz7
