BREAKING : Cowboys Predicted to Land Star Wide Receiver in Latest 2025 NFL Mock Draft

Cowboys Predicted to Land Star Wide Receiver in Latest 2025 NFL Mock Draft - Athlon Sports

The Dallas Cowboys haven’t made many moves early on in the offseason, but there’s still quite a bit of time until the 2025 campaign gets underway. The easiest way for the Cowboys to add talent is through the 2025 NFL draft, and they have been predicted to land a star wide receiver in a recent mock draft.

Dallas has a pair of key offensive players in place, with Dak Prescott holding down the fort at quarterback, and CeeDee Lamb being his favorite target in the air. Both guys signed long-term extensions with the team last offseason, ensuring that they will be building blocks for the future on that side of the ball.

Things didn’t go the Cowboys way in 2024, though, as they finished with a 7-10 record, missing the playoffs entirely. Injuries, particularly a season-ending hamstring ailment Prescott suffered, did not help, but even when he was healthy, the team was not playing at the level they were expected to.

Even though the Cowboys already have Lamb leading the way in the wide receiver room, Prescott could stand to benefit from having another talented target. That’s why Luke Easterling of Athlon Sports believes that Dallas will select Arizona Wildcats wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan with the No. 12 pick in the draft.

“I wouldn’t count out an offensive lineman here, but the Cowboys need another top-shelf pass-catcher to help Dak Prescott and take attention away from CeeDee Lamb. McMillan might not be the fastest receiver in this class, but his towering frame and impressive catch radius could make him a dominant target at the next level,” Easterling wrote.

McMillan is one of the top wide receivers in the 2025 draft class after he hauled in 84 passes for 1,319 yards and eight touchdowns last season. And with Brandin Cooks departing for the New Orleans Saints on Friday, that could only strengthen the link between McMillan and the Cowboys as the draft approaches.
