BREAKING : Updated Green Bay Packers depth chart following first wave of free agency

Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs and quarterback Jordan Love

Since the 2025 NFL free agency period began, the Green Bay Packers have lost more players than they’ve signed.

And that’s with general manager Brian Gutekunst re-signing a couple of players who were set to hit the open market, those being linebacker Isaiah McDuffie (two years, $8 million) and kicker Brandon McManus (three years, $15.3 million).

Outside of those two, the Packers have added only three new players to their roster, the lowest total in the entire league thus far.

First and foremost, there’s new left guard Aaron Banks, who inked a four-year, $77 million deal with Green Bay after spending the first four seasons of his professional career with the San Francisco 49ers.

Then, there’s Nate Hobbs, the now-former Las Vegas Raiders cornerback who was brought to Green Bay on a four-year, $48 million deal.

And finally, we’ve got wide receiver and kick/punt returner Mecole Hardman, whose contract details have yet to be revealed at the time of this writing.

And that’s literally all Green Bay has done at this point, which can’t have Packers fans pleased, given the ample amount of salary cap space the front office had to work with.

On the flip side, the Packers lost six players, with AJ Dillon (Eagles), cornerback Eric Stokes (Raiders), defensive lineman T.J. Slaton (Bengals), center Josh Myers (Jets), linebacker Eric Wilson (Vikings), and cornerback Corey Ballentine (Colts) all finding new homes.

So, what has this done to the Packers’ depth chart?

The biggest change to the Packers’ depth chart is on the offensive line

The biggest change to the Packers’ depth chart, of course, is on the offensive line.

With Myers leaving for the New York Jets, which could prove to be a massive mistake, Elgton Jenkins will now make the move to center, thus opening the starting spot at left guard for Banks.

The cornerback position could obviously see some big changes soon, as the Packers are still deciding what to do with Jaire Alexander.

If Alexander is released or traded, Hobbs could move to the perimeter to play opposite Keisean Nixon. But if Alexander stays, Hobbs seems set to start at nickelback when Green Bay utilizes that particular scheme.

Hardman certainly won’t start at wideout, as he’ll likely be used as a backup in the slot. It does seem, however, that he’ll take over kick and punt return duties from Nixon, who has made it clear that he has no desire to fill that role anymore, as he wants to focus on his responsibilities at cornerback.

Here’s a look at the Green Bay Packers’ updated depth chart following the first wave of free agency.

You’ll notice 12 slots on the defensive side of the ball, as we’ve accounted for the nickel position. And let’s certainly not forget that plenty could change after the 2025 NFL Draft. But here’s where the Packers sit for now.
