The Kansas City Chiefs signed Jaylon Moore from the San Francisco 49ers to be the starter at left tackle, and he’s ready to get down to business.
The Kansas City Chiefs addressed what was seen as perhaps the most problematic position this offseason with left tackle Jaylon Moore being signed from the San Francisco 49ers.
Both Kingsley Suamataia and Wanya Morris were unable to lock down the starting role, which led to guard Joe Thuney shifting out to tackle. He’s with the Chicago Bears now as the Chiefs look to balance the books.
There have been many differing opinions on what Moore can bring to the Chiefs, given he hasn’t had that much experience with just 12 starts in four years, but Jaylon has made it known that he’s ready for what might come in 2025.
“In my opinion, the tape doesn’t lie,” Moore said. “I know it’s a small sample size, but I just go out there and play ball the way I know how. They see something in me, so I’m excited to go balls to the wall for these guys.”
That is the right mindset, and Moore will be expected to help fill a void in an offensive line that allowed 36 regular-season sacks (Patrick Mahomes’ most in a year) and another 11 in three playoff games.
However it appears that not many are sold on Moore being the saviour at the position with several media outlets having the Chiefs taking an offensive lineman in their mock drafts, so more competition could be on the way.
But Jaylon is ready to get down to business with his new team as he looks to prove all the doubters wrong by going “balls to the wall” for his new teammates.
