Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid is one of the best in the business. The success that he has led the team to in recent years has helped him join the conversation of “GOAT” when it comes to NFL head coaches.
Today, March 19, happens to be Reid’s birthday.
Reid turned 67 years old today. His passion for the game has not diminished one bit and his drive to win is as good as it ever was.
With today being a special day, young wide receiver Xavier Worthy took some time to send his head coach a birthday message.
In an Instagram story, Worthy sent a three-word message. It was short and simple, but it was the thought that counted the most.
“Happy birthday coach,” the message read.
He also attached a red heart emoji at the end.
Worthy is fresh off of his rookie season with the Chiefs. He put together a strong year, catching 59 passes for 638 yards and six touchdowns.
As for Reid, he helped lead Kansas City to another impressive year. The Chiefs ended the season with a 15-2 record. Sadly, they could not compete the Super Bowl three-peat.
Throughout his illustrious NFL head coaching career, Reid has compiled a 273-146-1 record. With Kansas City specifically, he holds a 143-53 overall record.
Most importantly, the living legend has led his teams to three Super Bowl wins.
Following the season, Reid had a lot of praise to share about Worthy.
“We learned Xavier is more than a deep threat. He also has the ability to do that and we probably could have tapped into that even more,” Reid said. “I’m not sure we’ve tapped that out. I think there’s more, and that’s exciting.”
