Who Will the Chiefs Pick in Round 1? | 2025 Mock Draft Roundup 3.0

The 2025 NFL Draft will be here before we know it, and as the league prepares to gather in Green Bay on April 24, the football-watching world is rife with mock drafts and projections as to how the first round will play out.

Kansas City Chiefs News - NFL | FOX Sports

Here’s a look at who some of the latest mock drafts from around the web have the Chiefs selecting with the No. 31 overall pick on April 24, and for reference, previous roundups can be found below:

ESPN (Mel Kiper Jr. – March 18): Texas OT Kelvin Banks Jr.

One of the original mock drafters himself, Mel Kiper Jr. from ESPN, sent Texas offensive tackle Kelvin Banks Jr. to Kansas City in his latest mock. Here’s more from Kiper:

“Banks has the traits to help fortify Patrick Mahomes’ protection…His experience (42 college starts), quickness and power would be welcomed in Kansas City.

Pro Football Network (March 18): Alabama OG Tyler Booker

The folks from Pro Football Network also sent an offensive lineman to Kansas City in their latest mock, but instead of a tackle, they went with Alabama offensive guard Tyler Booker. Here’s more about the pick:

“Heading into the 2024 season, Booker shed a significant amount of weight, and his play ended up improving as a result. He didn’t allow a single sack all year on 395 pass-blocking reps, earning All-American nods as a junior guard and landing on CSN’s All-SEC team as an honorable mention.”

FOX Sports (Joel Klatt – March 17): Minnesota OT Aireontae Ersery

Lead College Football Analyst Joel Klatt from FOX Sports has the Chiefs going with Minnesota offensive tackle (and Kansas City native) Aireontae Ersery in Round 1. Here’s what Klatt wrote about the selection:

“Ersery was an All-American at Minnesota and is experienced (38 starts), which would help the Chiefs replenish their talent at a rare position of need.”

CBS Sports (Mike Renner – March 17): North Dakota State OG Grey Zabel

Mike Renner from CBS Sports has the Chiefs selecting an interior offensive lineman in Round 1, electing to go with North Dakota State’s Grey Zabel. Here’s more from Renner:

“Grey Zabel looked like a Day 1 starter on the interior at the Senior Bowl…His background at tackle for North Dakota State could help in a pinch as well.”

NFL.com (Daniel Jeremiah – March 18): Ohio State OT Josh Simmons

NFL.com’s Daniel Jeremiah opted for Ohio State offensive tackle Josh Simmons to Kansas City in his latest mock draft. Here’s what Jeremiah wrote about the pick:

“Building quality depth up front would seem like a wise move based on the issues they dealt with last season.”

Pro Football Focus (John Kosko – March 17): Oregon DT Derrick Harmon

John Kosko from PFF has the Chiefs bolstering their defensive line in his most-recent mock by selecting Oregon’s Derrick Harmon. Here’s more from Kosko:

“The Chiefs would love to find an offensive lineman here, but with the best available ranking in the late 40s on PFF’s big board, they select the next best available pass rusher in Harmon. His 55 quarterback pressures in 2024 led the FBS. The potential to learn from Chris Jones makes the Chiefs an ideal landing spot.”

The 33rd Team (March 17): Ohio State DT Tyleik Williams

Kyle Crabbs from The 33rd Team also went with a defensive tackle to Kansas City in his latest mock draft, selecting Ohio State’s Tyleik Williams with the No. 31 overall pick. Here’s what Crabbs had to say about Williams:

“Williams is an excellent run defender who could prospect next to Chris Jones.”
