UPDATE: Chiefs Reveal Big Patrick Mahomes Injury News at Wednesday’s Practice

The superstar quarterback re-aggravated his ankle injury against the Bucs, but should be set to play this weekend against the Broncos.

Nov 4, 2024; Kansas City, Missouri, USA; Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes (15) rolls out to pass during the second half against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.

The Kansas City Chiefs and their fans held their breaths after seeing superstar QB Patrick Mahomes leave the field briefly in Monday night’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Mahomes hurt himself in the fourth quarter while throwing a game-tying touchdown pass to veteran running back Samaje Perine. Initially, it seemed as if the veteran QB suffered a knee injury.

However, after the Week 9 overtime win, Mahomes told reporters that he rolled his ankle, which he previously hurt in Week 8 against the Las Vegas Raiders.

On Wednesday, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid gave a positive update on Mahomes’ ankle injury ahead of their Week 10 matchup against the Denver Broncos.

“We won’t have to back off it,” Reid said about Mahomes’ left ankle, according to Nate Taylor of The Athletic.

If you are the Chiefs, this is fantastic news about Mahomes as they try to keep their undefeated streak alive. Last week, Mahomes was on the Week 9 injury report but was a full participant throughout the week.

The veteran quarterback is coming off his best performance this season in the Week 9 win over the Buccaneers.

The superstar quarterback completed 34-of-44 passes for 291 yards and three touchdowns. It was the first time this season that Mahomes didn’t throw an interception.

Mahomes must be able to move in and out of the pocket against this Denver Broncos’ defense, which ranks second in sacks (31) and QB pressures (91). The Broncos also have a top-10 pass defense, allowing 186.6 yards per game.
