Reid is now a member of the New Orleans Saints, while Thuney heads to the Chicago Bears.
NFL free agency rolled along over the weekend, with now-former Kansas City Chiefs defensive tackle Derrick Nnadi signing with the New York Jets.
Safety Justin Reid left for the New Orleans Saints on Tuesday of last week, and in early March, the Chiefs traded left guard Joe Thuney to the Chicago Bears.
Responding to a Chiefs’ post with a quote-post on X, Reid kept his message to Kansas City brief:
Will always love you Kansas City! 💍💍 https://t.co/GqHkRtHowp

“Will always love you, Kansas City!” wrote Reid, adding two ring emojis commemorating back-to-back championships.
Thuney shared his note to Kansas City via his official Instagram account.
“I wanted to express my gratitude to Chiefs Kingdom for the past 4 years,” wrote Thuney. “You embraced me with open arms and the support and encouragement has been incredible. Thank you to the Hunt family for giving me the opportunity to play in Kansas City. Thank you to Coach Reid, Coach Heck, Coach Matthaei, the rest of the coaching staff, all those in the training room, weight room, equipment room, dining hall, and everyone else in the building — you made my life so much easier and I hope I was able to give you something back. To my teammates, it was an honor and privilege to play and fight beside you. I hope you felt and knew that I gave everything I had to you and this game. All good things must come to an end, and the journey continues. Bear Down!”
