After seeing their dreams of a first-ever NFL three-peat go up in smoke in New Orleans last month, the Kansas City Chiefs have a new goal for 2025: become the second team in history to reach the Super Bowl in four consecutive seasons. Doing so would give Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce the chance to win one more championship together before Kelce‘s potential retirement; the legendary tight end is returning for 2025, but it will be the final season of his contract.
One area where the Chiefs could stand to make an upgrade is at the wide receiver position. Sure, the receiver room in Kansas City is teeming with talent, but durability concerns are not especially what Mahomes wants to be thinking about in 2025, and the room hasn’t had a true #1 receiver since the Tyreek Hill trade of 2022.
Is Keenan a fit in Kansas City?
For years, wide receiver Keenan Allen gave the Chiefs’ defense fits as a member of the San Diego / Los Angeles Chargers. Now, the buttery-smooth pass-catcher could be taking his talents back to the AFC West after the Chiefs missed out on signing former Super Bowl MVP Cooper Kupp last week.
Allen too is a free agent after a disappointing 2024 season with the rebuilding Chicago Bears, but had he played with the Chiefs in 2024, Allen’s 70 receptions, 744 receiving yards, and seven touchdowns would have placed him second, second, and first among Kansas City’s receivers — which include household names like Kelce, Xavier Worthy, and Rashee Rice.
If everything completely falls apart with the Chiefs receiving corps, 3 veteran names to watch:
– Cooper Kupp
– Keenan Allen
– Tyreek Hillπ https://t.co/a6QYrMaDQU

Allen, 32, is a six-time Pro Bowler and a savvy veteran whose price will come down the longer he is on the market. He may be unaffordable for Kansas City right now, but the Chiefs have become known for recruiting and developing talented players amid salary cap restrictions. Allen would offer Mahomes a more-physical pass-catching threat relative to Rice, Worthy, or Marquise “Hollywood” Brown — and his own burning desire to win a Super Bowl matches up with the Chiefs’ biggest priority in 2025.
As of now I believe the Chiefs need a Bigger WR. Someone who can go up after jump balls. Weβve got Speed, Slant and Deep threats obviously addressed with Rice, Hollywood and Worthy. What about Keenan Allen? Probably fetch something close to DHops 1yr 6mil. Do like 2-3mil baseβ¦
