BREAKING NEWS : Should the Bengals pursue Chidobe Awuzie after release from Titans?

New York Jets v Tennessee Titans

The Cincinnati Bengals seem to love a good reunion. They have a history of bringing former players back to the organization, the most recent being Samaje Perine coming back this offseason.

Could a cornerback from the Super Bowl team be next?

Saturday, it was reported that the Tennessee Titans released cornerback Chidobe Awuzie just one season after signing him away from Cincinnati. “Chido” came to Cincinnati in the 2021 season and had maybe his best season as a pro during that magical postseason run.

With the Titans last year, he played in just eight games and hauled in only one interception. Injuries kept him off of the field for over half of the season, which was an issue his last season in Cincinnati. Awuzie dealt with a back injury in 2023, leading to the Bengals getting younger with DJ Turner and Dax Hill at the outside corner spot.

Now that Tennessee has moved on, should the Bengals be interested in a reunion with Awuzie? With Mike Hilton still unsigned, Awuzie could be a good veteran presence as the DB room moves toward younger players.
