Kansas City finished the season with a 17-3 record, having defeated the Houston Texans and the Buffalo Bills in the playoffs before losing to the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl, 40-22.

As the Chiefs work to build their roster, in an attempt to make their fourth straight Super Bowl appearance, they made an interesting move at quarterback.

According to NFL insider Tom Pelissero, the Chiefs have re-signed Bailey Zappe to a one-year deal.

Zappe previously spent time with the Chiefs during the 2024 season. He was a member of Kansas City’s practice squad before being signed by the Cleveland Browns in 2024.

Zappe also spent time with the New England Patriots, from 2022 to 2023.

Throughout his three-year NFL career, Zappe has recorded 12 touchdowns and 2,223 yards with a 62.1 completion percentage. Most of his production came from the 2023 season with the Patriots, where Zappe served as a starter for a large part of the year.

Zappe joins a quarterback room with arguably the best signal-caller in the NFL, Patrick Mahomes. Last season, Mahomes posted 26 touchdowns and 3,928 yards with a 67.5 completion percentage.

Mahomes also added two touchdowns and 307 yards on the ground.
