The New England Patriots have the most money to spend out of any NFL team at $125.78 million, but all the cash in the world won’t satisfy the desire of one pending free agent target.
Boston Sports Journal’s Mike Giardi reported that Baltimore Ravens offensive tackle Ronnie Stanley “has communicated his desire to finish his career where it started” in Baltimore.
In addition, Giardi wrote, “The Ravens have said they are trying to get a deal done” for Stanley. Giardi also noted “buzz in Indy” at the NFL Combine “that the team would let him fetch a price and give Baltimore the right to match” in free agency.
Stanley, who was scheduled to become a free agent, signed a new contract to remain with the Ravens. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Baltimore is re-signing Stanley to a three-year, $60 million contract.

New England desperately needs offensive line help to protect quarterback Drake Maye, so the possibility that Stanley will not be an option is difficult news in Foxboro, Massachusetts.
Giardi noted that “Stanley is the best out there” for possible offensive linemen in free agency, but now the Patriots will need to look elsewhere.
That said, the Patriots will see other options when free agency begins. Other names to watch include Cam Robinson, Will Fries, Teven Jenkins, Jedrick Wills, and Patrick Mekari.
