Brandin Cooks has been on five different teams since breaking into the league in 2014.
He started his career with the New Orleans Saints and was with them for three seasons before spending the 2017 season with the New England Patriots. He spent the next two seasons (2018-19) with the Los Angeles Rams before playing for the Houston Texans from 2020-22.
Cooks joined the Dallas Cowboys ahead of the 2023 season and was with them for that season and the 2024 season. He’s now slated to be a free agent and could be on his sixth team when the legal tampering period for free agency starts on Monday
He has enjoyed his tenure with the Cowboys and is open to returning to the team even though this will be the first time he experiences free agency. He has been traded four times throughout his career.
“I’m expecting a good free agency since this is the first time that I would be a free agent in my career, but I’m also open to returning to Dallas. At the end of the day, I’m just trying to win. I am fully healthy and have nothing to hide,” Cooks told NFL insider Josina Anderson.
Cooks only appeared in 10 games during the 2024 season, finishing with 26 receptions for 259 yards and three touchdowns. He played in 16 games during the 2023 season and had even better numbers, compiling 54 receptions for 657 yards and eight touchdowns.
He has recorded six 1,000-yard seasons throughout his career, and while he’s a bit older now (31), he can still be a good contributor when he is healthy. He’ll have a market when the legal tampering period opens.
He has played in 158 games, totaling 710 receptions for 9,532 yards and 60 touchdowns.
