The Green Bay Packers are coming off a solid season, going 11-6, finishing third in the NFC North, and ultimately losing to the Philadelphia Eagles 22-10 in the wild-card round.
For the third straight season, though, the team has failed to have a 1,000-yard wide receiver, with Davante Adams doing last in 2021 with 1,553 yards.
In an attempt to try and fix that, Henry McKenna predicts that the Packers will sign wide receiver Stefon Diggs, pairing him with quarterback Jordan Love.
“Diggs’ days as a WR1 are likely over – man, that happened fast, didn’t it? – but in the Packers offense, he could put together a respectable 1,000-yard season,” he wrote. “He’d also bring some veteran consistency to a receivers group that needs exactly that.”
Diggs was unfortunately limited to just eight starts for the Houston Texans in 2024 after suffering a torn ACL, but he was still efficient in that time, accumulating 47 receptions, 496 yards, and three touchdowns on 64 targets.
If Diggs can return to being the same player who had eight straight 1,000-yard seasons from 2018 to 2023 and four straight Pro Bowl nods from 2020 to 2023, then he’d be a major addition for the Packers and Love.
Green Bay would need to bring out the checkbook to get him, though as his market value currently sits at $13.5 million annually.
