Kansas City Chiefs superstar tight end Travis Kelce has officially put retirement rumors to rest—he’s coming back for another season. In classic Kelce fashion, the announcement came via the “New Heights” podcast X account, with a simple but emphatic message: “ITS TIME FOR YEAR 13.”

After the Chiefs’ Super Bowl LIX loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, speculation swirled about whether Kelce would hang up his cleats. Even the man himself admitted he was kicking “every can down the road” regarding his future. But now, with the sting of that defeat fueling him, Kelce has made it clear—he’s not going out like that.

What This Means for the Chiefs

Even though they have a growing talent in TE Noah Gray, whom they just signed to an $18 million extension last season.

Travis Kelce’s Off-Field Stardom

Beyond the gridiron, Kelce’s star power is at an all-time high. His “New Heights” podcast with brother Jason Kelce is a massive success, his endorsement deals are piling up, and, of course, his high-profile relationship with Taylor Swift has only elevated his celebrity status. With Swift wrapping up her record-breaking Eras Tour, the couple has enjoyed some much-needed downtime, including a low-key date night upon their return from a romantic getaway. Where they no doubt talked about their future, which would include his playing status.
